Guide: Bookings — fill the calendar, keep the clients

Bookings is built for the businesses that live and die by the calendar — salons, studios, service calls. The core loop: book the work, know the client, never lose a slot.

The dashboard and the morning briefing

Open Bookings and the day is already assembled: today's schedule, the health score, and the Morning Briefing — what's booked, what changed overnight, who needs attention. Start every day here; it's faster than scrolling the calendar.

The schedule

Appointments carry the service, the client, and the status. Cancellations are where Bookings earns its keep — a freed slot is a hole in your revenue, and the waitlist exists to refill it. Keep the waitlist honest and a cancellation becomes a phone call, not a loss.

The client book is the asset

Every client record accumulates history: visits, spend, services, notes. That history powers two things:

  • Badges that tell you at a glance who's a regular, who's new, who's drifting.
  • The AI upsell — open a client and the AI suggests the next service they're most likely to want, with a talking point your front desk can actually say out loud. Thumbs-up or down each suggestion; it learns what works for your business.

Synced views: staff, inventory, money

Bookings stays focused on appointments and clients, and borrows the rest read-only when you sync tools: the Staff view appears when Ledger is connected (the roster lives there, next to pay and scheduling), Inventory shows the stock your services consume, and completed work can log straight to Ledger for billing. One entry, no double-typing.

The approval queue

Anything the AI wants to do that touches a client — a win-back text, a follow-up — waits in the queue for your tap. You stay the voice of the business; the AI just makes sure nothing slips.

Scheduling, clients, and the views are free. The briefing intelligence, upsell suggestions, and agent coverage (Chronos watches for gaps and lapsing regulars) come with the AI subscription.
